I have completed a Ph.D. in Rhetoric/Composition and Linguistics at Arizona State University. I have also completed my MTESOL degree at the same academic institution. I am currently the Acting Director of the Language Center at the University of Cyprus where I am also a visiting lecturer. My work focuses on Augmented Reality, mobile technologies, social virtualities, gaming, iPad Apps for training ESL teachers, second language learning, cultural-historical activity theory, and computer-mediated communications. I am involved in multiple European-level and nationally-funded projects, including “ReDesign” and “Physics” As part of the Euroversity project, I led a team of 7 European partners to devise an evaluation plan to assess the impact of the Euroversity framework. At the same time, I have collaborated with a faculty member in Engineering to devise pedagogically-potent materials that can create new affordances for language and content-based learning for undergraduate engineering students at the University of Cyprus. More recently, I have collaborated with faculty members at a Swedish academic institution to devise a framework for pre-service teachers’ evaluation in remote African contexts.
