I have completed a Ph.D. in Rhetoric/Composition and Linguistics at Arizona State University. I have also completed my MTESOL degree at the same academic institution. I am currently a research fellow at the KIOS Research Center for Intelligent Systems and Networks, where I work on social virtualities, gaming, iPad Apps for training ESL teachers, second language learning, cultural-historical activity theory, and computer-mediated communications. I am involved in multiple European-level and nationally-funded projects, including “Euroversity” and “From Engineering Classrooms to Virtual Engineering Learning.” As part of the Euroversity project, I led a team of 7 European partners to devise an evaluation plan to assess the impact of the Euroversity framework. At the same time, I have collaborated with a faculty member in Engineering to devise pedagogically-potent materials that can create new affordances for language and content-based learning for undergraduate engineering students at the University of Cyprus. We have a new EU project funded that will begin next month!
